Hey Everyone...... Well we have arrived in New Zealand and we have only now got 5 weeks left :-(

Day 1

Well we arrived in New Zeland after a 4 hour flight from Cairnes to Sydney and then a two and a hlaf hour flight Sydney to Auckland. The flight from Sydney seemed to take forever, it didnt help though that the movies were rubbish!! We arrived in Auckland at 4.30pm and we had to get the bus to the town to meet Kate (Claire friend form Camp) so we could go back to her apartment.

Kate met us about 6pm, she was really nice and she made us really welcome. We went straight to her apartment in Parnell which was lovely and met her house mates Katy, Mel and Lisa. We dumped our bags and haded straight for the supermarket to get food for dinner. Kate cooked us stirfry which was really nice and we just chatted and chilled out on the settee all night. It was so nice having home comforts again!! We went to ned early that night as e were so tired as we had been up since 3am that morning!

Day 2

Well we were meant to be up at 9.30am as Mel was taking us on a tour of the city. However we didn't make it out till 12pm as Mel tried to wake us at 9.30am but she couldn't get us to wake so she left us and we didn't wake up till 11am!! We obviously needed the sleep!! When we were ready she took us for th tour. We ended up going up the SkyTower. It was very similar to Sydney SkyTower but this one had a SkyDeck as well which was higger than the Sydney one and it also had glass panles we walked across!! It was an amzaing view of Auckland as you will see from the photos!! Claire however would come to the edge to look down so she stayed in the middle again - bless her!! Me and Loz hoever walked all around the edge taking photos. I must admit though the glass bottom floor was quite scary when you looked down! After the first level me and Loz then went up to the next level, it was quality we were soooo high! After that we grabbed a starbucks and went around the city which is very much like a mixture between Sydney and London. That weekend it was International busking so there were loads of buskers on the street so we stayed and watched one which was good, Loz even got to be part of it by throwing the blow loght up to him!! We then headed back to Parnell where Kate lives and Mel dropped us off at the Kiwi shop so we could book on it to do the North of New Zelaand on the monday! Mel was qulaity she reminds me of Pheobe from Friends - she crazy!! :-) After booking the Kiwi we went back and chilled out watching Dirty Dancing. Me and Claire are so sad we know all the songs and words off by heart!! However Loz fell a sleep, she wouldn'y know a good film if it hit her on the face!! :-)

When everyone got back from work we ordered Pizza (so much for the diet), met more of Kates friends, Leigh-Ann and Sarah and then got ready for thier frineds James's house warming party in One Tree Hill. It was the most random party i have ben too. It was full of blokes, i swaer we were the only women there!! It was cool though altough me and Loz brought a 7 doller bottle of Rose whohch is 2pound eighty our money and it was rank!! There was nothing else for us to do other then down it!! It was horrible!! After finisjing all our drinks and the fire twirling had finished we decided to go back to Kate's for a few more drinks. Loz and Lisa thought it would be a good idea to get the Midouri out (a melon shot), we ended up finishing the bottle! Next Kate got the Vodka out..... however when me and Lisa were having a photo she decided to put it all over the settee and floor!! Was very funny, Lisa was battered!! After finishing our drinks we all passed out on the floor!

Day 3

So we all woke up with a major hangover and it was all Loz and Lisa's fault!! So we decided to go to the Strawberry Cafe for breakfast, we needed food!! After breakfast we went straight home and got on the settees for more DVD's and an afternoon nap! About 6.30 we all woke up and tried to go to the supermarlet. The problem was Kate's car had gone when we went outside. It was been towed away, she had parked it in another place. She was gutted, it cost her 200 dollers, the worst of it was though she was only 30mins after the time limit. Once we had collected the car we went to the supermarket and then me and Claire cooked all the girls dinner to say Thank You for letting us take over their house!! :-) We cooked our famous dish, BBQ chicken, cheesy JP and salad!! Was lovely!! Then after a gossip we headed for the our beds fr a well earned sleep!! I mean we had, had a hectic day!! :-)

Day 4 - Sunday 3rd Feburary

Sunday we woke up bright and early and headed to Albany, where Piwi's parents live. We had booked tickets for to watch the Mens Hockey Olympic Qualifying Game, New Zealand vs Ireland. It was a quality game, the standard was awesome. It was also a big event, loads of people were there. We were cheering for Ireland but the black sticks won 3-1!

After the hockey we then went to Kate's paretns house for the day. It was such an amazing house with huge gardens and even had its own tennis courts. So after 10mins of being there me and Claire couldn't resist a quick game which turned into a set! I might add i won 6-2!! We then headed up to the house as loads of people were arriving. Altogether there were about 20 people and her parents did a massive bbq with salad etc which was the best meal we have had so far. It was such a lovely evening all the people made us really welcome! It made us not want to backpack around anymore! After the food, we challenged Kate's dad and his friend, Don to a game of doubles. Unfortunately they thrashed us 6-1 :( The preasure of everyone watching us got to us!! hehe!! So we decided to switch partners, Steph partnered with John (Kates dad) and Claire was with Don. The match went on for absolutely ever... it was such a long game of tennis, but we won 7-5! By the end of it i had a massive blister on the bottom of my foot, and Claire had one on my thumb from the 3 sets we'd played but we had a really good day. I am definelty joining a club when i get back!! We then headed back to Kates house and set our alarm for 6 with our Kiwi bus leaving at 6.50am for Paihia!!
