Kaz is having a rest from the blog so you get me today. Had a bit of an up and at them morning as packed and out of the hotel in record time. Decided to have coffee before leaving Olomouc for Krakow via (you guessed it) Helfstyn Castle, and as the local Czech league team SK Olomouc Sigma home ground was across the road we went there. Had a couple of coffees then wandered to the fan shop and had a look around, we were told one of their players is now with Chelsea (can't remember his name but a prize for the person who leaves a comment with his name). Anyway after that interlude into the car and program Ken the GPS to get us to the CASTLE. About 35 minutes drive and I was impressed when I got there, right on top of the hill and in good condition, great views in all directions. They also have some blacksmiths society based there with an annual festival which we were 2 days too early for. Had some lunch there at which we managed to order some delicious food (I am not being sarcastic) in our fluent Czech which ended up being spaghetti with vegetables and a soup (body may go into withdrawals not having meat). In the car and programmed Ken to get us to Poland without using Toll roads as the Czech system is not that easy. No issues there as the Czech drivers are not quite as crazy as the Poles. Into Poland we went (at some stage as there is not real definition of when one starts and the other finishes) but we could tell as the drivers started being crazy and there are 50,000 traffic signs but not one that tells you the speed limit. There is one sign at the border that lists the speed limit for each type of road and then you have to remember. Got to Krakow at about 17:30 with no issue and got the the little Megane humming on the motorway at a consistent 140km/hr. Apartment is about 15 minutes by tram from the centre so we will investigate that tomorrow. We decided to have a night in so went the supermarket next door but guess what, it is a public holiday ( Assumption of our Lady we think) so it was closed, walked further down the street and found a Mini Mart and bought some dinner that will be a pleasant surprise as we have no clue what it is (I am a bit rusty on the Polish). Anyway wait for the report on the outcome of that one, so I don't disappoint some of you I did buy some bottles of Tyskie (yes that is beer) nice big 0.65lt for $1.30 (I am going to be one grumpy customer when I have to buy a beer in Perth on our return).
Well good news dinner was a hit, Polish Chiko rolls is the closest we can compare it to.
