A bit slow this morning so left it till the last minute to check out. Had coffee and then went to find monastery that girl from hotel had told us about. Don't know if ken the gps was confused or the girl that gave us the address but finished up on a street full of run down apartment buildings, no monastery to be seen anywhere. Headed off to the fort where the soviets held off the nazis on their western front. Unfortunately it is also a memorial as 50,000 Jews were killed and buried there by the nazis. Photo is of memorial sculpture. Arrived Vilnius mid afternoon and rang guy about apartment. Great little place right in old town. Did washing, a much needed core as both running out of clothes. Went for a quick walk to supermarket as decided to cook dinner in our little apartment. Stephen had to stop for a couple of beers but I stuck to the orange juice. Saw heaps of people hanging around outside a hotel up the road so waited to see what was going on and out came the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. They were playing in Kaunas last night so must be playing in Vilnius tonight. Couldn't really see them as too many people. Had a relaxing evening in watching Olympics on tv.
