Monday 23rd Jan 2012.

We were up early and set off at 6am on our travels. we 1stly had to pick up toni, a 19yr old german guy from marys and bernys other farm who had asked if he come come with us. He hasnt the best english so we werent over the moon about it but we couldnt really say no, and its another party towards fuel costs!! We set off on our way to wellington to get the ferry across to the south island. lou drove and i, well,slept. i think it was abit annoying for lou as since my allergy has flared up to the cats my sinesis are blocked and as a result, i snore, alot! who needs radio eh!?! On the ferry there was lots to do but we just slept most of the way until the end when emmerdale was on so i decided to watch it (its about a year old tho, aaron not ever come out as being a bender yet!!) When we arrived at the south island i set off driving. We made our way south stopping here and there. one place we stopped off at was to see some seals. we tried looking for them and couldnt find them and then started saying how we didnt want to see them anyway, we're not 6! that was until lou shout across me mid-speach THERE'S A SEAL OVER THERE, I CAN SEE THEM. we then pulled in and excitidly looked and took some photos. there were loads of them and were pretty laid back. one started shouting at us but one lad had gone down to another one and was within touching distance of it! We then hit the road again. somewhere along the way lou and i swopped over again and i fell asleep until lou woke me saying we were in christchurch if i wanted to have a look. its not in good nick i must say! then, well then we got lost. anyhow, 30 long mins later and with me at the wheel and lou on the map we found our way and headed off again. the next stop was geraldine where we met lynette taylor, lous cousin. She took us back to her place where we met her friends (all from yorkshire and lou and lynette knew one of the girls from home!) and then went to the pub where they had a drink and i had a pizza! After that it was quite late so we went back to bed (lynette was up at half5 next day for work-shes wrapping wool on a shearing job or something)

Tuesday 24th jan.

We were up and off at around 10am and heading further south towards queenstown. We stopped off at lake tikapo (??) and then lake ?? (ill ask lou later) before heading to mt. cook for some pics. it was a boiling hot day again and yet the top of mt. cook is covered in snow!! we then headed on our way (i was driving this time and the roads were very windy, made alot harder by the sight of lous face right by mine when i looked around and her fast asleep ctaching flys, and stopped off at cromwell. mary had recommended staying there for a night. glad we didnt, the town centre was smaller than kendal arcade centre! we grabbed a drink and an ice cream (hokey pokey - caramel, and a fudge one. deee-lish!|) lou set off on her way while i tried to catch some shut eye and then i was woken as we had reached queenstown! We found our hostel and checked in and i have to say its again the best hostel ive been in. cheaper and the views over the lake behind, lake ?? are fantastic! We then booked some things for the next few days and headed out for tea. I had something ive wanted for a long time now and never had. beef wellington. it was awesome, i recommend it! I forgot to say that on our way to eat there was a huge hill that we had to walk down meaning one thing ...we had to walk back up it!! i think we all nearly died but ull be pleased to know dad that i came first to the top!! now were heading to bed for an early night before tomorows adventure!!
