After checking out of the beach front hostel we went on what we thought would be a long drive and walk to the pancake rocks. within an hour of leaving the hostel we were done! They were literally 3mins down the road and the walk around the rocks and the blowholes took 20mins. In summary, the pancake rocks are rocks that are layered and look like pancakes and the blow holes are gaps where, when the tide is high (which it wasnt when we were there), water shoots through and up in the air.

So, after the riverting 20mins we set off on our way up to Nelson. We made one stop on the way at Murchison for lunch and an ice cream. The biggest double scoop ice cream ever and it cost the eqivelnt of £1.70!barry-argin! We then landed here at around 3pm and checked in. another cheap and noce hostel, only the 3 of us in the room this time and no bunkbeds! get in. we headed to the beach for an hour and then went out to get some dinner. the town was desserted as its their bank holiday over here so we grabbed a pizza hut (1x large pizza and a garlic bread each = £5!!) and some booze and came back to the hostel for that and a game of monopoly. the food and drink was great, the monopoly not some much, lou anileated us!
