Kim's European Journey
20 things I've learned in London:
1. I am really tired of "chips".
2. Apparantly, according to Nick, the urinals are designed according to physics.
3. The plumming is awful.
4. I love cider.
5. Telephone boxes are cool.
6. Always keep an eye out for important people being escorted by police into Buckingham palace.
7. Pubs stand for public places and they close really early.
8. It is not uncommon for large pieces of stone off of a building to fall into the street.
9. The tube is very efficient.
10. You can find every kind of international food in one block.
11. Everything is expensive.
12. London is an international hub.
13. Eating while holding both your fork and knife is difficult.
14. The pigeons are huge.
15. As common as hot tea is here, no one ever drinks ice tea. The woman in Gap told me she has never had it.
16. They have car brands here I have never heard of.
17. It is basically impossible to find a trash can on the streets. We walk blocks and blocks with our empty water bottles until we find a trash can. And yet, the streets are cleaner than any I have ever seen. And the tube stations simply do not have trash cans.
18. The men all dress in suits, usually pinstripe.
19. Harrods is overrated.
20. Everything is really, really old.
We are currently trying to figure out the best method of transportation to get to the train station at 5am tomorrow. I have really enjoyed London. It is everything I expected in a much more condensed area. Although I am looking forward to coming back for a few days in 5 weeks, I am ready to see Paris.
