Florence is really amazing and what we were expecting when we came to Europe. Like almost all other major cities in Europe, it is on a river (see photo). The streets are tight and are very medieval looking. Last night, we went to the Uffizi plaza and watched an outdoor concert while eating gelato. Excellent. So many things are closed on Sundays here. Luckily, the shopping isnt. The girls and I went to San Lorenzo market. I bought the leather purse I had been holding out for. And a knockoff Gucci duffel bag to bring all of my extra home stuff in. We all wanted to go see Michelangelos "David" sculpture, but the line was ridiculously long and not moving. So we made our reservations for the Uffizi museum and will make reservations to see the sculpture tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to sign up for a tour of Tuscany and wine country. Side note: Italian men really are as sleazy as their reputation suggests.
