Thur 27th started with a Metro ride to Tuileries where we took a bus tour around Paris for an hour or so. While we didn't get to Montmartre we saw most of the sites in and around the Seine and the Left Bank. The tour included a Seine River cruise from the Eiffel Tower to the Ile St Louis and back, and then a visit up to L2 of the Tower. From there we were able to buy tickets to the top. Apart from the relentless queuing (security here is a nightmare with airport security checks into everything) it was something we needed to do and that was perfect.
We enjoyed a very well deserved late lunch a block or two away from the Eiffel Tower and then walked to the Musee D'Orsay. Kyra and I hope that the first memory of walking into this wonderful Musee will live in our children's' minds forever. Certainly we think much of the artwork will. That said, it was a little ironic that much of the Impressionism had recently toured Aust where the entire Stanton family (with Weaze) had seen it.
We had another satisfying meal close to the hotel and fell into bed not long after 9pm, exhausted.
