We woke to a clear, sunny day. Croissants, oeufs and baguettes (still warm) were sitting outside our door. We enjoyed a slow French breakfast (complete with the hostess's home-made fig and apricot jam). Most Stantons then picked up a book and lazed around reading. Kyra visited to local shop for lunch - cheeses, baguettes, pate and amazing fresh fruit. After lunch we picked up our books, with a long lazy afternoon nap the order of the day.
For dinner, the hostess gave us a surprisingly vegetarian but very nice meal. Cherries are in abundance at the moment, so after some lovely cheese we had cherry clafoutis (which Rory had a lot of) with cherry ice-cream and fruit salad. Two other English couples are staying here at the moment and they were also with us.
It is a lazy day, but bashing around London, the Loire and Paris does to take it of one. A long lazy Sunday is just the tonic.
