As always I am useless with keeping my blog up to date all the time, so here is a brief outline of what has been going on the last month or so. I can't believe it's already July. So after a week of initial job hunting I got offered a waitress job in a restaurant. If I were in Australia longer it would be a perfect job contact because it's a chain all over Australia, but never mind. It's called Hogs Breath for those who want to look it up online (probably my dad!!). It is a cool place to work, uniform is casual, jeans, trainers and a t-shirt they give you. Recently I had been getting a lot of trouble from my supervisor. I'm not really sure why but he has something against me and yelled at me for no reason. Anyway I went to the manager about him and now he seems to be ok. We'll see how it goes but he's someone who's just been promoted to supervisor and because I am one of the newbies I think he is on a power trip. There are now 3 new people so I am no longer the newest person working there; everyone else is lovely though and I really enjoy it. I even learnt how to carry 3 plates which is a necessity in waitressing, so go me!!
I started looking for another job as well because there are not many hours available at the restaurant and I need something to do in the day time because I've been getting pretty bored with not much to do in the day time whilst I wait to work in the evening. I have just been offered a fundraising job so I start that on Monday. I am excited to finally get a steady income, start paying off my debt and enjoying myself again.
The weather has been really nice here recently; last weekend we took a day trip to the beach which was fun. One of my friends has a car so it was a free trip there which is always handy.
I mentioned in my last blog that I was looking for flats; well that's definitely not happened yet. I am still in the hostel. I am with 2 other girls who also wanted to get a flat and we wanted to look together but honestly I think we will all end up just staying in the hostel together.
Also, to keep myself entertained and fit and healthy, I have joined a hot yoga programme. I think it is called bicram yoga in the UK. You take a yoga class in a room that is heated to 37 degrees. It makes you sweat it out. It is also supposed to be very good for you so I have joined this for 15 weeks. I have already been for 2 weeks and already seeing a difference. I definitely put on weight the last year and half in Australia, now it's time to lose it again!
I've also been seeing friends and making new friends. One of my friends I met this time last year in Cairns is coming to Brisbane this week so I am excited to see her. Not much else to report. Hope everyone is well back home. I hope the house move wasn't too stressful for you, mum and dad. Lots of love to everyone, miss you all. Speak again soon. xxx
