It's actually hard to believe that we only left Adelaide yesterday. My wonderful husband really does have many traits of his father..... We were on the road just after midnight Friday morning. It was a beautiful cool clear night - the stars were out and it was soo peaceful.
We went through Port Wakefield at 0110hrs before having to come to physical halt in the car at the traffic lights at Paralowie. Coming into Adelaide was quite a surreal feeling - cloud cover had moved in and there was an eeries glow on the horizon from the city lights.
Saffron had fallen back to sleep before we hit Paskeville and woke when we reach Gepps Cross at 0200hrs. Instead of stopping for brekky at Pooraka Macca's, we decided to keep going for the time being. Saffron's sleep was completely out of whack as she fell asleep again before Regency Rd but was bright as a button by Nottage Tce (0205hrs)
We made the South Eastern Freeway around 0220hrs - hit the Princes Highway at 0300hrs and had our first toliet break at Tailem Bend.
We crossed the border at 0510hrs (SA time) to a beautiful sunrise as we drove on to Horsham.
Cast iron stomach time for brekky as we had Macca's in Horsham at 0720hrs (VIC time). From there it was probably the longest part of the journey..... I seriously thought it would never end!
But it did and we finally got to the Caravan Park at 1130hrs - our cabin wasn't ready, so we had to find something to do. Lunch was on the agenda, although I don't think any of us were very hungry. Needless, Saffron only wanted a bowl of chocolate ice cream for lunch - which she had.....
As I had been on night shift on Wednesday night and only had 3hrs sleep on Thursday, I was exhausted by the time we stopped and settled for the night.
The cabin is nice - 3 bedrooms with a huge spa. There's a "shopping centre" next door for want of better words, but enough to get essential.
