Day 2 and we drag our very sleepy and disorientated daughter out of bed and head off towards Tamworth... This was a very dull and uninteresting day until we reached Tamworth (although breakfast at Coonabarabran was yummy) We got to Tamworth about 1100hrs and as it was too early to check in it was off to the information centre to find out about Tamworth. We wandered through the Country Music Museum - that was so interesting.... There was a wall of guitars signed ...

Day 1 is off and racing.... left home at 0300hrs with a very excited 8yo.... It has been an easy drive until we were 246km from Broken Hill when we encountered a marauding mob of kamikazi kangaroos - each with a death wish - and Selwin obliged one with their desire.... He hit the brakes and collected the Roo on the front right side.... Saffron happily snoozing away on the back seat didn't even stir..... now to find a place to assess the damage the 6ft Australia...

The count down has begun..... I'm already on holidays, Saffron has finished school for the term and we are awaiting Selwin getting home... The bags are packed, Saffron 's activity box is sorted, tablets and phones are charged even the snack box is organised.... The furkids are ready for their holiday at Narni and Grandpa's - where they will be definitively spoilt.... so just to have dinner and an early night and then we are off....

After a very restless doze, I was woken by Selwin as he headed for the shower. The final leg of our trip was about to begin. We left Saffron sleeping for as long as we could and we didn't even bother getting her dressed this time. By 0100hrs, we were on the road heading for home. It was an easy drive and uneventful. The couple of days have been quite a blur. We left Hobart 0845hrs, with the aim of having a leisurely drive north to Devonport. Unbeknownest to us, it was going to be a quick drive. I think we forgot that Devonport really isn't that far from Hobart. Arriving in Devonport at 1130, we had to find a way to pass 5hrs. That was going to be a challenge. First of, we decided to grab some KFC for lunch and went to The Bluff Playground on the foreshore in Devonport...
