The ride from Green Bay to Sturgeon Bay, was smooth easy and uneventful. The best type of day! The most excitement was when I open the boat to full throttle. We have been cruising around 8 knots to save fuel, but I occasionally bring it up to our cruising speed of 15 knots, to exercise the motors. This time I decided to go full throttle for about 5 minutes. We reached 21 knots (24mph), I could see the fuel gauges drop as I did this, so I did not stay there long!
As we got into Sturgeon Bay, there was a very heavy burning smell, which I later figured out was from the Fincatiere Ship Building yard. As we got downtown the smell went away.
Sturgeon Bay was a one night stay for us, we did not see much to do. There was a maritime museum, but it was closed. One of the staff tested positive for Covid, and they closed until all of the staff could be tested. We did ride our bikes to the grocery store, but that was the extent of our touring town. We did not charge the bike batteries in a couple of days, and I had very little battery life left for the ride back. I had just enough juice left to assist me up the hills.
Our next stop is Kewaunee 26 miles away.
