All I have to say is what a "AMAZING DAY", Life Changing.....
So some of the Team woke up today at (430am) what happened is there clocks accidentally changed to Toronto Time so instead of being 630 it was only really 430.....Rest of the Team woke up for Breakfast at 730 to another amazing "SPREAD".....English Muffin's, Papaya's, Pineapple, Ham and Cheese.
Shortly after Breakfast the "Gili's" shared a Devotional, It was pretty Powerful and at the end of the Devotional we all sang a song. There Whole Family all participated.
9am we proceeded to our First Distribution it was about 45 minutes away and we arrived at a School with around 77 Kids Ages 2-4 and 5-9 Both Boys and Girls.
Don got out of the Bus and went and scoped out the school, Everyone was getting pretty excited, The Kids were all hanging at the gates Screaming and Chearring at the Bus. It felt like we were "Celebrities" But we were here to do Gods work and Change Lives.
We then Proceeded in the school yard, Ken and Craig went around and gave all the kids "High Fives" and then Played with the Kids with "Rocket Balloons" that shot into the air where the kids were all chasing them. It was pretty Cool how all the kids swarmed around both Ken And Craig.
Sophia and Deanne setup and started to make balloon animals they had a crazy Line up. The Gili Family along with Gigi and Erna were doing Face Painting, while the rest of the Team was Organizing the Distribution of "TOMS SHOES", Every child and even some of the Ladies were fitted with Toms Shoes.
Tom's Shoes is the Corporate shoe company that donates 1 pair of shoes for every shoe sold in North America and Moviendo Esperanzas is the "Offical Supplier of TOMS SHOES in Costa Rica.
After playing with the kids for about an hour and finishing up on the Shoe Distribution we Then had all the kids sit down in there age Groups 2-4 Boys, 2-4 Girls, 5-9 Boys and 5-9 girls.
We ended up Distributing 50 Shoe Boxes and 109 Pairs of TOMS SHOES, including the Moms.
These Kids are invited to the Greatest Journey a 12 week Discipleship Program
Once we finished handing out the shoe Boxes we then Went for a Fantastic lunch together as a Team.
The Afternoon was a very Life Chaging Experience where we distributed 4 wheelchairs, 2 Boys, 1 Girl and 1 Man. I suggest if you have the time to go thru the Photo's and have a look at the wheelchairs we setup.
The Process was amazing and very life changing to watch and go thru on what these kids are going thru, It was very emotional for alot of Team Members that will be with them forever.
These Families could Really use your prayers as they walk and go thru there new Journey's. The Expression on there Faces was amazing to see how happy these children were and there parents.
After we were finished with the Wheelchair distribution we got back to the Guesthouse at around 700pm, it was a Very Long and Emotional Day for the Team.
We unwinded and had another Amazing Dinner of Chalupas with Guacamole, salsa, sour cream, chips and Tortilla shells and amazing Some Sort of Blueberry white Cold Tea.
You could see the team how tired we were. We then had a Unwind to the evening with a De-briefing Recap of the day, alot of the team shared how all the different events of the day affected each and every one of them.
Both DON and ROB are amazing leaders, Even ROB broke down today and got emotional.
OH, I forgot Don and one of the Girls had a RACE with Wheelchairs done got in the spare wheelchair and raced one of the kids, It was funny Don was wondering why his Wheelchair wasn't moving it was because ROB was holding the back so he wouldn't move.
It was Cool to watch how they all reacted.
Most of the Team after the Wind down ended up going to bed and Few of the Team stayed up and Played "UNO" of Course the Gili Family were the Champions but Sophia and Craig gave them a Run. Round 2, it was funny watching Sophia how much she was getting into the game and chearing ...LOL
Ken Managed to get The Flames Going they won 4-2
Don and Rob stayed up for a little longer and hung out, and Deanne then came down and chatted with Don.
Ken decided to put a Countdown Timer tonight so they wouldn't wake up so early LOL
Well This was a Great Day and Hope your enjoying the updates on the Blog and you Feel Like your Here with our Team. Were Looking forward to what the rest of the week will bring us and how God will work with the Team and Help change lives of the Kids and there families.
We appreciate the Prayers and ask that you help and Pray for the Shoe Boxe's for the Week as well as the Ones already Delivered as well as the 3 kids and the one Gentleman that were all fitted with the Wheelchairs plus as well these children were given a shoe Box
