Day 3
Yesterday we had 2 Distributions the one in the morning was a small distribution with about 50+ kids in Total between both ages 2-4 and 5-9.
It was Indoors and we setup on a Soccer Field. The Lady's setup there face painting, Nails, Balloon Animals and Tatoo's, Ken, Craig and Rob played soccer with the kids.
The Excitement in the kids faces was amazing when they opened there shoe boxes, You can see the photos uploaded from the last 2 days.
Later in the afternoon we had the second distribution and it was inside a school house. This area was a little Cramped with setting everything up but as a Team we came together and were still able to setup everything including the TOMS shoes. All the kids were fitted with Shoes even some of the Adults.
The team was busy at painting nails, tatoos, balloon animals, facepainting and even Ken got out a beach ball and played with the kids.
Don and Rob got into the Face Paint and some how managed to get the girls doing the face painting to paint there faces it was funny to watch.
After getting back later in the evening Moviendo Esperanzas did a Presentation for the Team on there Stoves that is another one of there projects that there doing in Costa Rica.
Everyone went to Bed pretty early as we had a Big day the Next Day and had to be up and ready for Breakfast at 645am
Please pray for all the kids today that Got a Shoe Box as well as for the Team.
DAY 4
Today was a early morning the team woke up for breakfast at 645am and on the bus at 8am. We headed out for a Long busride to our first Destination. WOW what a amazing Ride we drove thru one of the Volcanoe's that had recently erupted and it was a long Treck thru the Mountains. We could see where all the Ash had come down and how it affected the Roads and bridges.
It was amazing to see the farmers plowing there lands with OX's and carts and all the Wonderful Flowers. We managed to arrive at our destination shortly after 10am.
Because of our late arrival we had to change things up and actually do the Shoe Boxes First and then the Craft's and games afterwards. The whole team got involved with singing and dancing.
There was some amazing kids here and you can view pictures under the photo albums.
Rob, Ken and Craig were playing soccer with the kids in the field, Because of the Altitude we were at it really affected some of the team members as when we were leaving to go for lunch more than 3/4 of the bus was sleeping.
We had a fantastic meal and you can see the restaurant photo's, it was cool to see all the $$ bills of different countries and Private Notes hanging on the walls. One of the team members went to the bus and got a piece of carboard that had samaritan's purse on it and we all signed it and hung it on the wall( Way too cool).
On our way to the last destination we got stuck in traffic as a Toyota Truck had side swiped a Semi Trailer and it was blocking the highway, The funny thing is there wasn't really too much damage to the vehicle.
Once the vehicle was moved out of the way we continued onto our destination. There was about 30+ kids but because we were late some of the team went ahead in a car to get things setup while the rest of the team was on the bus.
When we arrived the kids were singing and dancing, there was lots of little one's ages 2-4 and few kids 5-9, We continued with the activities and the shoe boxes.
We even gave out some of the blankets that were made back at Southview to some of the lady's with small babies.
These Kids were all so full of Energy and it was very cool to see all there expressions on there faces of what was in the Shoe Box. More important it's what God is going to do to continue to work in these children's lives.
After we were cleaned up we headed on our bus ride back to the guesthouse, later in the Evening after dinner Fabio talked and shared about the Wheechair Ministry.
This is a area that they really need prayer for as some of these Kids/Families have been waiting for well over 2-3 years to be able to get a wheelchair.
What is really needed is they have the Donations for the Chairs but they need the Funds to be able to Bring the Containers in and to pay the Duty/Freight on these Containers. It works out to around $100usd per wheelchair to be able to Bring them in.
They currenty have over 650+ People waiting to be fitted with a wheelchair and these people have been waiting a long time. It's a Big Ministry here and they could really use our prayers and Support.
Well that's it for today hope you enjoyed the blog only a few more days to go, Tommorow is a later day breakfast at 730am
........God Bless
