40 hours later and we finally made it! Our taxi to the hostel cost us $2 and he helped wake the owner and let us in. Apparently I told the hostel that we would arrive yesterday at 2pm... oops. He understood though and showed us around.
After a brief nap, we ventured into town to find an adventure agency and lunch. First, we found a mediterranean restaurant that did amazing breakfasts and coffees - my tiramisu latte was incredible, and then we found 'Wonderful Ecuador'. It took much deliberating because we wanted to do everything on the list, but we settled on horseback riding for the afternoon. So, after stealing a couple of mountain bikes, we raced home to change.
Our guide was really nice, neither of us spoke enough of the other's language to have a proper conversation, but we managed enough. He took us up into a waterfall to see clay and sulfur deposits. Next we took a bizarre bridge-swing across the river to see a little house, a tree house and a swing - I nearly fell off said swing and barely managed to hold on. We returned to our horses and rode some more - took them up and down some hills, my horse seemed to enjoy walking down hills as much as me, and Jeremy's horse apparently wanted to jump over fences - well matched I think! After four hours of riding, our legs were burning and we said goodbye to our guide. Somehow we managed to walk back to the hostel and collapsed there.
