So it´s been a week since my last blog entry so I thought it was about time I wrote another...
What a week this one has been. In seven days I have had an alergic reaction to some random Brazilian fish, climbed another mountain, swam in a waterfall, been on a 4X4 jeep tour, learnt how to make Caipirinhas (Brazil´s national cocktail), had my bank card cloned, been on a twenty hour coach journey, been to the second largest city in the world, been to the worlds weirdest concert and sweated out my body weight in water (and possibly alcohol)...and I´ve only been gone 13 days!
The photos I´ll be uploading shortly will show you all the beautiful sites I´ve been lucky enough to see and experience over the past week but some of the photos (and I´m known for bad photography) really don´t do these places justice.
Ilha Grande, the beautiful secluded island we stayed on off the East coast, has some of the most peaceful, tranquil beaches I´ve ever seen. The main beach on the island (Lopes Mendes) has been voted one of Brazils top 5 best beaches on multiple occassions. Here I learnt to make Caipirinhas (thanks to our tour guide Juan), climbed another mountain, and sweated my body weight in water. I have never been that hot in my entire life. Imagine sitting in a suana for 2 hours, that´s what climbing a mountain in a rainforest feels like!
My other highlight of this week has got to be the 4X4 jeep tour around Paraty and the natural waterfalls which the girls and I did. We visited 3 waterfalls where we swam, slide and swang around for almost 8 hours. Brilliant! Such kids haha.
This week has also had some not so great moments - the face expanding was hilarious but not ideal, and my latest ball ache - the bank cards of 5 of our group members (including mine) have been cloned. All is now OK but a word to the wise, you can never be too careful with your cash!
Oh well, I´m having the time of my life so I can´t/won´t complain. All is good, and tomorrow I´m off to Iguassu Falls...life is brilliant.
Take care of yourselves my lovely readers
Much love...will update again soon no doubt...
