This was such an amazing place to stay. Nestled up in the Tuscan hills surrounding Florence, we opened our eyes wide to take in the freshness of the air up here, the winding streets and little old scooters and trees lined up like dominoes along the lines of perfectly patchworked fields. The view from Settignano, near where our Servas hosts lived, was like a dream, a postcard perfect vision, the Tuscany you always dream of. Beautiful Firenze sparkled below and I ate a blood orange with happiness.

Our hosts were Mila, Marco and there adorable little son Leo(nardo), who I spoke a little Italian to and played some hallway soccer with. Lasagne was for dinner, and it was to die for. Go the Italians are geniuses in the kitchen. Sitting around the table with some Italian beer and some after dinner formaggio, it was a delight to be a part of such a normal family evening.
