Thursday October 18th
We were supposed to check out this morning as we originally have booked 3 nights here at the hostel. We did that cos we thought that we could visit Maui or other islands but we decided to not to bother with that cos we just want to chill out and save hassles/money. So we asked the hostel if we could stay for extra 3 nights before we leave for Fiji. All sorted and we thought that we were staying in the same room.
The staff, Johnny who knew the sign language decided to move us again and put us into private room for no extra cost! Nice! We didn't move our stuff till we returned back from our trip.
Our trip to Manoa Fall started at 9.30am. There was only 4 of us in the group, including us. It was a 30 mins drive away. We hiked for about 30mins before reaching to the Fall. It was very steep and slippery. It was full of mud and we have noticed few people were wearing flipflops, so good job that we had common sense to wear suitable shoes!!
It was very hot and humid. We were sweating like pigs by the time we reached to the Fall! It was gorgeous but wasn't what we were expecting. Lisa was expecting the fall to be bigger than that!
After taking in all the scenery, we hiked back again and it was even harder. As we were going down this time, it was harder to get the grip on the trail without slipping on the mud. Luckily we succeded without falling over!
We returned back to the hostel at about 12noon, trying to decide what to do in the afternoon. Before we did that, we moved our stuff to the private room. We didn't realise how much stuff we had to move!
Once that was done, we thought to visit Pearl Harbour. After searching on the net for more information. Johnny told us that it wasn't worth going at the time cos it would not give us much time to look around by the time we get there.
We then discussed about what to do tomorrow. We did think to go to Pearl Harbour but Lisa wasn't that keen as Daniel was. She wanted to visit Polynesian Cultural Center instead. Its a hawaiian experience. For more info: http://www.polynesia.com Johnny mentioned that its meant to be a fabulous experience. That persuaded Daniel in the end!
We went off to the town to search for the tour that would take us to Polynesian Cultural Center. Found one but wasn't sure if the prices were reasonable so we decided to come back later to confirm whether we wanted to go ahead or not. On our wander, Lisa decided to buy a handbag from Macy as she is getting fed up with carrying her wallet and camera with her hands! :P
We came back to the hostel again to check with Johnny to see what the prices should be and the one we found was just around it. So we booked it for tomorrow. It was meant to be $110 but Daniel managed to get it down to $90. Better than nothing! :)
One more good news, well for us both really! We managed to find a tour that can take us to where LOST was filmed. We get to see the set and imagine where the characters were etc. We have booked it for this Saturday! Can't wait!
Just another chill out in the evening, possibly watching a dvd in our private room!! Woo Hoo! :P
