Snowchick & Scooby's Travels
Friday 25th January
We didn't have to leave our campsite by 8am but for some reasons, we both woke up very early such as 5.30am. Daniel left the tent and went for a walk with someone from our group on the beach. Lisa eventually got herself up about 10mins later and was looking for Daniel. She gave up and decided to get herself washed and prepared to pack everything together. Eventually Daniel returned and helped out.
As others were still asleep, 3 of us decided to cook ourselves breakfast along with a cuppa while it was still quiet! Eventually others finally woke up but they had short time to get everything together as we were still aiming to leave by 8am! The tides were slowly going back but it was still too risky to avoid of driving into the sea! We then decided to use the tracks that we used yesterday and returned back to Lake Mckenzie for a relaxing morning. As usual, it was Daniel who was still driving so he was a happy bunny cos others were cramped in the back due to the tight spaces!
We obviously had a swim and sunbathed, just a chill out till 12.30pm for our lunch. Finally we spotted few dingos which Lisa was able to take proper photos! After our lunch, we decided to move on to get back to the ferry terminal by 2pm for the departure at 2.30pm.
On our ferry journey, we saw 3 wild dolphins swimming by in the distance which we were lucky to see as someone spotted it first. We quickly worked it out and finally saw them jumping out of the sea a couple of times.
Finally returned back to Hervey Bay by 4pm and we all couldn't wait to have a proper shower to get rid of all the sands that we have brought with us!
The mechanic was waiting for us at the ferry terminal and then we followed him back to the 4x4s hire company. They were doing the strict check on 4x4, all the equipments, ensuring that there were no damages so we could have our deposits back!
We all returned back to the hostel and checked in for a night. Before we had a shower, we went to the supermarket to stock our drinks up as we were so thirsty!
It was time to book our next stop, this time to Rainbow Beach for a night tomorrow. We have booked our coach for 10.30am. Luckly for us, its only a couple of hours journey.
For the evening, we had a shower, repacking everything back into one luggage again, checking the internet. We then retired ourselves for a good night sleep in our beds this time, instead of on the camping ground!
