Thursday 31st January
we just took it easy today and thought that it was about time to start looking for a job. Our hostel have a job club so we enquired about it and it was for tomorrow. We didn't really want to join the club. We just wanted somewhere that they could help us to find a job such as a job desk that the hostel usually have! So we left it and decided to see if there were any in the city. Before we made our way, we spotted a poster about renting an apartment which is all inclusiver and its cheaper than the hostel that we are staying. We texted to enquire about it and whether we could view it. Unfortunately our mobile was unable to send so we had to find a vodafone shop to ask why it wouldn't work.
After arriving to the city and finding the shop, we had to wait for a while as there was a queue. Eventually we were served and explained our situation. Apparently we couldn't text cos our credits expired! We were shocked about that cos we didn't know that there was a expiry date to use our credits by! We knew we had at least $12 credits left on that so you could say that we were pretty annoyed about that! We were forced to top up again but we ensured that we bought the credits that had no expiry date this time!
We then popped into the souvenir shop that was doing the sale so we have bought a couple to remind us of our australia visit. After stocking up on food again, we spotted the STA travel shop and decided to pop in to enquire about volunteering in South Africa. It was unconfirmable about working with the lion cubs cos after checking with the organisation, it was depending on our deafness level and suggested us to email them personally to explain about our deafness and our abilities on communication. However after reading the project that they had in the brochure, it was alot more than what we were hoping to pay! So we decided to leave it and see if we could find something better on the internet.
We returned back to the hostel. Daniel was preparing the dinner while Lisa continued updating the blog as well as searching for the lion cubs projects on the internet. She found one so she emailed them to enquire about the prices and dates and it was much cheaper and in our budget too! we need to search more on this organisation before we can confirm whether we could do it or not. Fingers crossed!
Basically all evening, we just been too busy updating our website!!
