Tuesday 18th March
Today, we have booked to go on the tour around Opera House which started at 10am. Before we left the hostel, we noticed on the reception board that they were giving away the Sydney Cricket Ground Tickets so we took a couple to make the most of the freebies! We left in good time or we thought we did! We had only 10mins spare due to the rush hour for the tubes. Once we arrived, we waited for 10mins before we could proceed the tour. There was a huge group of us which was difficult to make sure that we could get in front to lipread the guide.
Some parts of the tour, we were unable to take photos, especially theatres. The tour went on for at least 1hr 30mins or so. There were interesting information that we managed to gain from the guide. Overall, it was a good tour but we personally wish that there was a brochure available so we could learn more about the history or any missed information.
After the tour, we decided to wander around in Botanic Garden as it was next door to the Opera House. We were on our way to visit the Govnernment House but unfortunately we couldn't go in to browse around. After visiting few gardens, we decided to move onto Sydney Cricket Ground. After catching the tubes, and walking in long distances, we got lost and then a man kindly pointed us in the right direction. Finally after a hour or so, we arrived but got confused with the entrance as its also home to the football and rugby. Once we found the cricket ground which was next door to the stadium, the match already started and we realised that it was a cup final between Victoria and New South Wales. After watching for a while, Daniel realised that there was a famous cricket player called Brett Lee who is well known for his bowling. He play for Australia Team. Lisa doesn't have a clue who he is anyway! After a couple of hours, Lisa had enough and couldn't manage to stay behind to see the end results. We then walked back, hoping to find the bus to get back. Eventually we hopped onto the bus and decided to go straight to Bondi Beach to get free internet time. After wandering around to find the place, we learnt that it have moved! It was a waste of journey in the end!
We caught the train back to the hostel and relaxed for a bit before going to the supermarket. We decided to purchase a nice cake for Daniel's birthday and it was a nice treat for us!
We spent the rest of the evening by chilling out in our room.
