Friday 14th March
We got up in good time so we could have a full day ahead to do things that we have planned to do in Sydney.
We went straight to Kings Cross Station to enquire about the weekly combined rail/ferry pass to get about and decided to purchase it. We thought it would be alot easier to get about and see more things at easy pace. First thing we did was visiting Darling Harbour. It is full of tourist attractions such as Sydney Wildlife Centre and Sydney Aquarium. Unfortunately for us, we didn't go as we thought it wouldn't be worth it seeing that we have seen the wildlife at Australia Zoo and as for Aquarim, we have seen it in the wild! Walking out of the harbour, we walked towards the Chinese Gardens, hoping for the free admissions. However, we should know better that it wouldn't be free as they were imported from China obviously!! We still went ahead as we thought it would be nice to see the gardens. It was gorgeous and shame that we can't visit from time to time to admire the views back at home.
We then visited the markets nearby and realised that we have visited there before when we stopped for a night before catching a flight to Cairns. Daniel wanted to buy clothes to wear for his birthday. After browsing around, we couldn't find anything that he liked so we gave up and walked back to Darling Harbour. We thought it would be nice to get a ferry back to Circular Quays instead of getting a train. That way, we would get the good views of Harbour bridge and Opera House. We were going to get a cruise but then we decided to drop it, after purchasing the rail/ferry tickets. It would save us money as we would get the same views from the ferry anyway!
We walked through the shopping malls and did some more browsing around, hoping in luck for Daniel and we certainly did. We managed to find a nice shirt and jeans which he was happy about and couldn't wait to wear it for our meal out on his birthday. He just needed shoes to complete which we would be looking for tomorrow.
We returned back to the hostel, feeling so worn out!! Our legs were giving up so we thought to have our tea before we were too lazy to do it!
