Wednesday 12th March
For the first time in long time, we got up quite early to have webcam chat with Lisa's family for her mum's birthday. It was quite lucky due to us having free internet access. Unfortunately the speed wasn't good enough to have a smooth video call! After the chat, it was time for our free breakfast and packing for our check-out. We checked out around 9am and left our bags with the reception so we can continue browsing around Blue Mountains.
We jumped onto the trolley and went straight to Scenic World. We changed our ticket with success and went straight to the world's steepest railway. We then hopped on and was surprised at how steepest and quick it was going at. It felt like as we were on the rollercoaster!! At the quick glimse, you could see the blue mountains in the distance. We were going down to the bottom of the mountains to enter into the rainforest. However once we got to the bottom, we haven't reached to the bottom yet so it meant more bushwalking for us. We were at least half way down from the top. Along the tracks, we saw the history of the coal mines as it used to be back then. They used the railway to transport miners as well as coals. After reading all the information, we started to climb down the stairs to reach to the bottom, walking through the rainforest. After walking around for 30mins, it was over already so we made our way back to get the transport back up to the top which was called Cableway. After taking photos and taking in all the views, we finally reached to the top and that was it. Our visit was done!
We made our way back to the hostel to have lunch before making our way to the train station to Sydney. We stocked up few stuff from the fruit/vegs market to save us money in the city. We were quite sad to leave Blue Mountains as it was amazing. However we were again excited to visit Sydney to do alot of exploring! We managed to catch a train at 1.30pm so we arrived at Sydney in good time. Again the journey took 2 hours and we then changed the train to get to Kings Cross.
Once we got to Kings Cross, we didn't have to walk very far as our hostel was next door to the station. On our arrival, it wasn't too bad but unfortunately by the time we got to the room, it stunk really bad. Also it was too small for 6 people to be able to move about! No windows to bring the lights in, no room for our bags. We felt that we couldn't stay there for a week as we would like to move about easily, room for us to sit and breathe!! So we decided to get out of the room and do some searching on hostels to move in for the next day. It was a good job that we only booked for one night there! After asking and looking at the rooms, we found one that we were happy and booked it up.
We returned back to the hostel and made the most of the free internet access on their computers. We also asked to borrow a couple of dvds to watch which kept us up till at least 1am!!
