Tuesday 11th March
Scenic World time! We managed to get up in a reasonable time as it was dark and cold like as it's in the winter back at home. We have left our hostel and popped over at the fruits market to buy for our snacks. Afterward, we walked to the town to wait for the trolley. This time we caught a right trolley!
We arrived at the Skyway East Station to catch the skyway transport to get to the other side of the national park. Also its another way where we can get good views of the Katoomba Falls and mountains from the far distance. We only had to wait for 10 minutes till we boarded on. It was cramped with full of people which we were struggling to take pictures. Luckily we were on the right side where we took photos of the waterfall. We also were able to look through the glass bottom which you could see the views, covered with millions of trees.
We also saw the famous three sisters on our journey. By the time we reached to the other side, we been informed that the scenic railway was cancelled which we were gutted! It was the only thing that we were looking forward to cos its the world's steepest railway.
Daniel spoke to the staff to see if it was possible to visit the railway tomorrow by changing our ticket which we did. So we decided to leave the scenic world and save it for tomorrow. We hopped back on the trolley to make our way to Lerua Village for plenty of craft shops. We didn't stay very long and waited for the next trolley service which took a long while! Eventually it arrived and we hopped on again and decided to get off again to get closer look of Katoomba Falls.
During our walk, we took the views of the skyway and Daniel spotted a small lizard crawling by which we took photos. Then Lisa spotted another one sticking its head out of the rock! After 30mins walk, we decided to get the trolley back to our hostel which we returned by 3.30pm.
We had our tea to make up for the missing lunch that we didn't have again.
Tomorrow, we will be checking out but won't be leaving here till late afternoon as we still got the scenic world to visit. Once that is done, we will then make our way back to Sydney to catch another train to Kings Cross for our hostel. Hopefully it will be a nice hostel so we will be staying there for the rest of our stay in Sydney before flying out to South Africa.
