Saturday 15th Sept
Its the day of the baseball game, Chicago White Sox vs LA Angels! We have been looking forward to experience the game and to be part of the american culture!
Before we went on the trip to Chicago, we had a newspaper journalist round to interview us about our travelling. So apparently we will be in the newspaper in the next 5-7 days. It went well. Adaire will scan the paper and email it to us for us to have a peek at. However she says that she will also send copies back home for our familes to have a look too. So we will be "kinda" famous in Chicago! heheh
Anyway back to the trip, We left Pontiac at about 3pm for Chicago. We knew when we've arrived to Chicago as we spotted the well known building called Sear Tower in the distance. We didn't realise that the stadium wasn't that far away from the Milliennum Park/Harbour
We've arrived at about 5.30pm. We were very surprised how sudden it felt so cold so it was a good job that Adaire and Joshua warned us. They lent us jackets/gloves to borrow to keep us warm. Boy, we were so pleased to have them as it was certainly a cold evening!
We had a quick look around and was surprise how small the pitch looked, comparing to the ones we have been watching on tv!
The game started at 6.05pm. At first, we struggled to understand how it works but after getting settled into it after 5-10mins, we understood and got involved! We had hotdogs and beers to get in the mood too.
The game went on for almost 4 hours but we felt the time went so quickly. That showed we did enjoy the evening.
Unfortunately for us, White Sox lost by 2-1. After the game, we had fireworks display.
The only dissapointment with is that we didn't manage to catch any balls that they hit into the crowd! Next time eh?!
We made back to home at about 11.30pm. As Lisa is typing this up, Daniel is currently packing our stuff away, ready for our train journey tomorrow at 3.47pm to Dallas.
