Saturday Sept 8th
After looking at few leaflets at the hotel reception, we found out that the Chicago Zoo do free admissions so we decided to grab the chance! Its called Lincoln Park Zoo.
We planned to go in good time but unfortunately for us, the part of our subway line was closed due to repairs which we didn't realise. It took longer than what we expected as there was too many stops on the replacement bus!
Once we got off at the right station where the zoo was, it added more time on top as we couldn't find it. We found that the map of Chicago wasn't very informative! Not helpful for someone who is new to the area. Thanks to the bloke who kindly offered us help with direction, we finally found it at 2pm!
However it was worth it in the end as we found the zoo lovely. Enjoyable and of course it was free! Nearby the zoo in the park, there was a small lake with all the paddling boats. Daniel wanted to go on it so we went and see the prices. We choked when we saw the prices and decided to not to take it up as it was so expensive! You should see Daniel's face, sulking when he found out that we couldn't go on it.
It was a muddle to get back to our hotel using the subway/replacement bus as there was no clear information around! We managed to get back after asking for help from the staff. We have learnt that there are lack of tourist information everywhere and can only get around if you know the area!
Once we got back into our hotel room, we had the leftover cold pizza to fill our bellies! It was just a chillout evening, watching films.
