Arrivated At 20:20 at the motel after a full day traveling with lots of stops on the way. ate in the village and backmto motel room. This day we were up and breakfast in the room then off exploring the town and Kiwi Centre. There seemed to be one Kiwi in the viewing area where we spent much time watching the Kiwimright by the window feeding on a log. 
70,000 left in the old from milllions. 

 Centre was fun but looked like it needed a bit of love and attention, 

we stocked up on food at at the supermarket and then hit the road for Fox Glacier our next stop. route 6 takes you across the coast the heads innland passing lakes, Cushing creeks with the southern Alps towering above us. 

We stopped at a layby by by a beautiful coloured river where a bloke we discovered was touting for business for a scenic helicopter ride. He told us flights at Frank and Fox had been cancelled. 

We didnt take take the bait and continued on our journey. Checking into 2 rooms, at the Bella Vista Motel and walked to,the Trip,shop. Rain expected but decision not made until 10 mins before the flight, 

disappointed and becoming more so as the clouds clouds rolled into the mountains,

we drove down to Lake Matheson and walked around but no reflection as a wind blew across the lake causing ripples. 

Ate at Big Foot, cracking meals, few drinks and talking wedding plans. 

We we went to bed with everything ready for our helihike hoping the rain would not come,
