Smoke or Fire?
Woke up on Perlubie Beach and packed up the camp (firewood and all) headed south into Streaky Bay. Fuelling up I noticed a scent of burning plastic in the air... Shrugged it off. After paying for the fuel and walking out to the car I see Shenae sitting in the front seat minding her own business whilst above her the roof rack is on fire dripping liquid flames onto the roof inches from the 2 diesel jerrycans on top. A few girlish yelps and a fire extinguisher later, we are both safe and the only casualties were the camp table and my camp chair. Turns out last nights fire wood was still hot. Another mystery we encountered was that we couldn't find the spare car key kept in the campchair bag. It was later found fused in a puddle of plastic on the roof of the troopy.
Sittin' on Coffin Bay
After a 55km 4WD averaging 20kmph, we made it to the far end of Coffin Bay National Park at Point Issac. The drive did drag but was great fun dodging emus, roos, lizards and tiny birds like a Pokemon safari/snap. Another scare we encountered was when low lying branches took the cap off of the jerry can, spilling diesel all over the Troopy. So today she's been doused in liquid plastic, fire, CO2 powder and diesel.
Still Troopin'.
But it was all worth it for the isolation and beauty of the beach we are camped at.

Jill I don't know that I want to read anymore! Glad the isolation and beauty of the beach was worth it.
