It's almost Christmas! This morning we have been shopping for our Christmas desires (I'm talking about prawn not porn) and we are just about to head out to Port Lincoln National Park for a few days. We arrived in Port Lincoln yesterday and it was a scorcher (reached 40 degrees). We stayed in a caravan park for the night to recharge the batteries and so that Alex could shower (he was starting to smell like a homeless man). The day before was just as hot and we were out at Coffin Bay National Park. This would have been perfect if it wasn't for our lack of ice and battery power for the Engel (making our milk go off), as well as the swarm of bees that decided to make home at our camp and didn't take too kindly to us. Suddenly 20 or so honey bees began chasing us all the way down to the beach. At first we found it a little funny, but before long we were stranded in the back of a 40 degree heat Troopy with the windows shut sweating our little asses off and it wasn't very funny anymore.
The day before that Alex hit a bird while driving. That wasn't very funny either. He also caught a flathead and we ate it for dinner, it was delish. Hoping for squid next!
Hopefully we get reception out in the National Park so that we can wish our families a Merry Christmas. But if not, we love you, we're thinking of you, and we'll miss you on Christmas Day.
