Had a good flight here to Cairo and met an Egyptian guy on the flight who made sure i was looked after at the airport. Good job I didnt get upgraded with BA as wouldnt have met him and also met lots of american and mexicans who were sat behind me and practised spanish. The Dad kept sneezing and assured me didnt have swine flu......
Cairo airport was manic and everyone got checked out at the airport for bird flu as airport official guy shoved an ear tool and said i was in the clear.
Once i cleared customs couldnt find Mr Assim from the hostal who was supposed to meet me at the airport! My egyptian friend from the flight left me with this official looking persn who was dodgey as hell and got a huge cut arranging a taxi for me....
Taxi driver couldnt find hostal but after asking 5 people we found it..... climbed seven flights of stairs and staff at hostal were suprised to see me as their driver had been waiting at the airport but will never know where......
Anyway, Hostal is nice and staff are very friendly, didnt go to bed till 3am local time as was chatting to owner about trips and Cairo etc.
