Hi there. Just a quick post to describe the bus journey from hell from yesterday. The trip was only 12 hours (tiny compared with a lot of others) from Salta in Argentina to San Pedro in Northern Chile. Nobody had warned me about this trip, but I probably should have figured it out for myself. Have landed in Punta Arenas in the south of Chile. A bit of shock getting off the plane. After a week on a tropical island I'm now surrounded by mountains, glaciers and snow and it's a hell of a lot colder too. I'm heading to Puerto Natales tomorrow and hopefully should start the Torres Del Paine trek on Monday (which will take about 5 -7 days depending where I go). Have a good 'working' week everyone.

Hola. I've just flown back to Santiago after a week on Rapa Nui. Rapa Nui absolutely rocked. The island is about 20km long and fairly tropical and humid. The major attraction is obviously the Moai (big rock carvings) but there is a lot more to the island. The local community (almost 4,000) are still very set in their traditional ways.
