Sam's Travels in New Zealand
Woke up early to do the skydive! Got picked up at about 10am! Drove across and got signed in, i hate filling out all the next of kin details etc, makes it a bit un-nerving! We got kitted out in our jump suits and life jackets (incase we landed in the water!) and met our instructors who helped us into the harnesses! We got to wear very fetching hats and goggles too!! Then it was into the plane and up! It took 15 mins to get to 12000ft but the view was amazing and everyone was really layed back so i didnt feel too nervous! Then the door was open and the first person was out before you knew it which was good because you didnt have time to think about it! I was third out and i'd payed to have a camera man jump with me so i've got a dvd and photos of the jump which are amazing! It wasn't as scary as i thought and you didnt get a sensation of falling even though i was falling at 200km/hr! I free fell for 45 seconds which was so amazing then the parashoot (not sure if thats how you spell it!) opened and we floated down the last 3000ft! I even got to stear! it was so amazing and the view over the lake with Mt Ruapehu in the background was breathtaking! I cant wait to do it again! That afternoon we went jet boating up to the Huka Falls at 75mph which was pretty impressive! Got completely soaked!
