We left the mountains this morning and cycled back down to Lourdes before relocating to Toulouse.
The (recent) idea for the next part of the tour is to explore the Haut-Languedoc by way of the newly created Passa Païs cycle route.
From its website,
“The PassaPaïs cycle route is a greenway that crosses through the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc. It follows a former railway line along its whole length, so you can ride along peacefully for almost 80km on a safe path, appreciating a mosaic of landscapes, going from moderate mountains, forests, hedge-divided fields and moors to garrigues (Mediterranean scrubland).”
We thought that sounded interesting and it will complete the transition from the (surprising) chilly southern parts of the Midi-Pyrenees to the far sunnier climes of the Languedoc.
We ate at L’Entecôte, the big and popular Toulouse restaurant where you queue up for the only thing on the menu - steak and chips. The only question from the waitress (they were all female) is “Quel cuisson? (How cooked do you like it?)”

Martyn Relocating..? Bit vague. Well done for completing the tourmelet. Read how you descended at speed. Made me wonder if you had put your brake blocks back the right way round.
