I took the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf - wow that is a great experience. I loved it! What a great tourist attraction. Those poor little cars go up and down those really steep hills - trust me I know how steep they are cos I walked up and down them yesterday.
I spent a fair amount of the afternoon in the shops... well I need a little retail therapy now and again. There were some lovely shops & some equally lovely clothes. However, I do think the American girls taste in jumpers leaves a lot to be desired... ugh!! Very colourful and something reminicient of the 80's. Also noticed that a number of the women were wearing flip-flops even in this cold weather... weird.
Dinner at Maxi's which is a really cool steak house which I chanced upon. At a first glance I thought I was the youngest person there, but that was not really the case. The 3 old dears sitting opposite me wore the worst possible clothes. The one poor soul was wearing a 'carpet' jacket.. no word of a lie, it was exactly the same as the carpet on the floor except the colour. Not good!
Went back to the hotel and had a drink at the bar and eavesdropped on two Yorkshire men who had the most monotonously boring voices that I had to get myself to bed. However, just as I was leaving, a bottle caught my eye & I asked the barman about it. Ever heard of "Drysack"? Neither have I, but apparently its a type of sherry.
