Firstly i have to apologise to everyone that its been so long for my latest blog but at least its going to be a long one with lots of stories..
Im going to start wth melbourne zoo, that we went to a while ago, was quite a good zoo but was dissapointed with the lack of reptiles..being australia and all i thought it would be filled with komodo dragons and anacondas, but no it just had a lonely corn snake..boring. it had a few spiders such as the bird eating spider and a few australia spiders like the red back spider. then it had the usual, lions, tigers and bears. plus giraffes, gorillas, orangutans, a great monkey exibhit, kangaroos, koalas. standard zoo. plus it had great unexpected things for a zoo such as mountain leopards, platypus, tree kangaroos, red pandas, and so on.. a very good zoo altogether but still cant wait for australia zoo.
Went to the local Sea baths which was on the coast, it was a swimming pool with a bit of a twist, which i wish they would of told me before i decided to dive in......the swimming pool was filled with salt water, i was wondering why my eyes were hurting so much once i dove in. it was a 25m pool filled with salt water with a hot bath with water jets in them plus a steam room, there was also a door which led onto the beach where you could run out of and into the sea, and once we knew that we did cycles of the hot baths...steam rooms...then running and diving into the freezing sea and back into the hot baths. was a good day.
The only proper job ive had since ive been out here is in a call centre, which im still doing atm, its actually really good, im working for the Australian Bureau of statistics, as this year is Australia's census. I basically work in a incoming call centre and help anyone who has any questions about the census, its really easy i have about 60 calls a day and about 20 need to order new forms, 20 need a new census form number and ecensus numbers. about 15 others random questions and about 5 asking if its compulsory. easy and worth it especially as its $21ph.
Met lots of people here and just going to name a couple of my closest mates, first of all theres Henry, a geordie whos sadly going home soon but im doing some travelling with him soon but will talk about that in a sec, Theres Annie and Lauren who are sisters from Leeds, both area awsome and soooo funny, and again im doing some travelling with them soon, and lastly theres Charlotte, a person you would never be bored with. all quality people and these are only my closest mates. theres emily,, nicole and linda who are all in the same room as me, laura and lisa there germans who are trying to teach me german. another charlotte, chole and alice who are our party people. and loads more, basically everyone in our hostel and more.
Anyways my plans have all changed, im going to thailand in 10 days with henry, he was planning to go to thailand when he arrived and everyone whose been says its amazing to i said id go with him and now were going. staying there for 3 weeks so leaving on the 25th Aug and getting back to Melbourne on the 13th Sept then im going to work hard for 2 months and im going to new zealand on the 1st Nov arriving at Auckland ill be spending a few days here seeing some of our family and friends hopefully. then getting down to christchurch on the 8th Nov to meet Annie and Lauren, were not to sure how but were going to travel up from christchurch to Auckland for about 3 weeks until 29th Nov when i fly back to Melbourne, from here ill probebly go straight to Sydney and stay there for a month meet up with chloe and alice and my australian friends (20 days of that living with a friend and the rest in a hostel which i have booked). then ill probebly fly up to Cairnes around the 5th Jan and again meet up with Annie and Lauren again and travel down the country with them ill get back to Melbourne about april time so i have about 2 months in melbourne before i go home.
Anyways thats basically what ive been getting up to for the past 6 weeks, not really much but i cant remember it all..
If i rememeber any more ill try and post it up plus ill try and post more regularly on this. hope your all well.
Love you all and speak soon

Lorraine Richings Hi Simon - loved reading your latest blog. May not always be in touch but think of you from time to time out there! Intend to deliver your grandma's order tomorrow night so no doubt you will be the topic of conversation! Well chuffed you've met a great geordie! What can I say! From one geordie to another give my regards to him and I'm thankful he's looking after you ... I hope ! :-) You'll have a fantastic time in Thailand! Sadly Mac and I split up recently. My decision but still so very sad cos he's a wonderful man. Don't know if you know but Amanda was in a car accident just recently. She's off sick understandibly! Her and Kev were shunted across the road by a trucker from behind while they were stationary. They both took a bad blow but I think Amanda came off worse. She's torn the ligaments between her skull and her shoulder blade. She came in to work to say hello last week but she is very fragile! Bless her. Hope she doesnt make the mistake of coming back to work too soon! Anyway love, better go, in the middle of cooking dinner. Look after yourself. Love Lorraine. x
