Simon & Kim's Global Adventure
We'd sped through America and had time to spare. As we were leaving from New York and our bus ticket allowed us to travel in Canada we decided to spend a week or two there. We drove through the 'delightful' city of Detroit before crossing the boarder to Canada. Luckily our bus wasn't full so it didn't take a long time. Immigration officers asked a few questions, yet despite visiting so many in the past year, we still get slightly nervous and are very wary of our behaviour.
Toronto was our first stop in Canada. From here we planned to visit Niagara falls but spent the first day exploring the city. We walked round using our guide book and looked at the town hall, shops and city sights. It was a nice city but nothing overly special. Beside the great lake were small boating lakes that are used for ice skating rinks in winter. The CN tower dominated the skyline but we decided against going up it. The days wasn't particularly clear and we have seen a number of city landscapes from high points. Si sniffed out a brewery called the Steam Whistle so we went in. Both of us were more than happy to receive a full sized free sample! After the beer we had a few local beers in The Elephant and Castle and then grabbed some dinner to fill our empty bellies. The city was small and there wasn't an awful lot to do so we decided to go to Niagara Falls the following morning.
