Simon found a city car park so we parked up in the middle of the city and headed to the I-site to find out what we could do and see in Dunedin. There was once again nowhere to free camp so we managed to find a nice campsite, just outside the city center on the beach, where we spent our first night just chilling out and watching TV.
The next day Si fell in love with some warm Canterbury joggers and the All Blacks new rugby top, so he went on a little spending spree. I too went on a mini shopping spree and brought some warm clothing as Dunedin as a bit of a shock to the system.
The following day we caught the bus into town again and looked around the sites of Dunedin, were we spent most our time in the main city museum. The museum has a new exhibition of photography, which highlighted things that humanity would rather not discuss - kidnapping and torture of civilians. During the afternoon we did the Speights Brewery tour, which Simon found fascinating!! After the tour we went for something to eat as sampling all the beer made us both extremely hungry. (At the end of the tour we could drink as much beer as we wanted on help-yourself taps). We went to a Arty/student cafe that was recommended by the Lonely Planet. I loved the $5 Milk Shakes which were served in jam jars, and I even beat Si three to Nil at chess earning bragging right for the next week or so.
That night we went to the Speights restaurant to have Tea, as Si owed me a slap up meal for not being being able to make his mind up about buying a van or not (long story lol).
