Simon & Kim's Global Adventure
Apologies that we're so behind on the blog and photos but we're hoping to have it all up to date as soon as possible. Arriving in New Zealand seems like so long ago. When we landed at night it was ten degrees and we were freezing! We hadn't experienced such cold temperature since we left England. We hopped on a shuttle, made our way into the hostel and wrapped ourselves up in blankets for a cosy nights sleep.
The following morning we had a mooch around Christchurch. Our hostel was in the middle of town beside Cathedral Square. We watched as people played chess on the giant chessboard. We also walked around the town and down to the river where we saw people punting. Christchurch is quaint but rather small and there isn't an awful lot to do or see.
Si decided that he no longer wanted to do the bus tour around New Zealand and wanted to hire a camper van - something I'd mentioned and wanted from the start of our travels. Complete pain in bum!!! We had to cancel our bus tour and ended up losing money. The search for the camper van then began. We found our van - a Mazda Bongo, at a car market. We had to get a bit of money out each day due to a restriction on our card withdrawal limit. After a few days we got the keys and left Christchurch. We didnt really see much - but there wasnt really alot to see or do.
