We arrrived in Melaka about midday and searched up and down all the narrow streets of China Town, to find a hostel. we ended up staying at a hostel called Sama Sama, which looked like an old european town house.
The place was pretty small and we managed to see everything that Melaka had to offer in just a few hours. Over all both myself and Kim were a little dissapointed with Melaka, as other travellers over the weeks had told us that it was a very interesting little place with lots to offer.
After looking at what the city had to offer for the afternoon we both decided we needed to sample some local food. I decided to have a Portugeuse Devil Curry, which totally blow my brains out in all senses of the expression! After finishing are meal i went to the toilet, which was infact in the middle of the restrants kitchen!!!!! the kitchen also didnt look like it had been cleaned since the "East India Trading Company" stopped saling around the world, which made up both feel very sick!
We both walked around the town in the evening and checked out the shops (Kim mainly). We did managed to find a cool shop called Jongers Gallery, which was like and upmarket Topshop.
Later on that evening we bumped into a lad (Steven) who we meet in KL. After searching and trying out some indian sweets we all went back to Steven's hostel. Sam, their hostel owner, took us to get some cheap beers. He took us strainght into one of his neightbours livingrooms. The people started offering us seats to stay and drink in there livingroom with them, but we declined as they were a little strange! When they opened their fridge up all of are eyes lit up as it was full of all kinds of cheap beer, as it was tax free beer which we later learnt is highly illegal in Malaysia.
We left the next morning for Singapore, where on are way to the bus station we saw a 6 foot lizard walking down the street in the middle of a city!!!!
