Dave’s Travel Blog
Today was a quiet day as we contemplated our return to the north country. We snorkeled and read and laid about enjoying the view and the sounds of the surf. I was able to take some video of the fish and the reef. Today is the start of the canoe races in Rarotonga so we went into town to watch the blessing of the canoes. There were several countries represented including Canada. I was having difficulty getting our scooter to sit on its stand when we got to town and stupid me, I went around to the other side of the scooter to try and completely forgot about the hot exhaust pipe so now I have a large 3d degree burn on my calf. After the ceremonies we dropped the scooter back at the rental place and caught the bus back to Little Poly as our place is known. We had a very nice final dinner and then started packing. We cannot stay here after our 10am checkout as someone is arriving to take our room at 12pm. The resort has arranged for us to stay at another of their resorts until we get picked up for the airport at about 9:30pm. We fly out at 11:59pm and arrive at LA around 11:30am. Then we wait for 8 hours and then fly to Kelowna arriving about 11pm. Hope to see you all soon. Kia Orena from the Cook Islands! The blog is closed.
