Dave’s Travel Blog
No blog yesterday but for a reason. The wonderful restaurant we went to on Tuesday night turned into a problem on Wednesday. We had shared a couple of appetizers during our meal and one of them left Jean and I a surprise present from Montezuma's Polynesian cousin. Wednesday was not a good day, first for Jean and later at night for me. Jean appears to have recovered and as I write this, I am watching her way out in the lagoon snorkeling. It is a totally glorious day weather wise but for me not so good stomach wise. I am starting to feel a bit better so I am hoping tomorrow will be like today for weather and we can spend lots of time snorkeling. I really want to use my GoPro camera so I can show everyone the beauty of the reefs out front. We went to the resort cafe this morning to have some dry toast and some hot water. There was an Aussie schoolteacher there with his wife so we started comparing notes on Oz and Canada. It's remarkable how similar we are. Especially when it comes to politicians. The conversation became pretty lively at that point. Got messages from Joanne and Jos telling me the weather is -10 in Salmon Arm today. I guess I had better make the most of our time left here. Jean has arrived back from snorkeling and has now decided to go kayaking so off she has gone. I am not sending many pics as the Internet is very expensive here. In NZ, you could buy 1 terabyte of Internet usage for $25. Here in the Cook Islands, it is 80 MB for $24.

Sunni It looks beautiful. Enjoy it while you can! (Hopefully you will feel up to snorkeling or kayaking again soon:)
Sharon I can hardly see Jean floating on the gorgeous blue water but your toe is looking healthy! Hope you are feeling better Dave and that you and Jean enjoy the final few days... come on home - we miss you both!
Les and Joan Thanks for the wonderful account of your trip. NZ is magnificent!
