The bus from Nha Trang to Mue Ne wasn't too bad except when we were half way into the journey our bus got hit by another bus and it took the massive wing mirror right off. Luckily it missed the side of the bus but only my millimetres! The driving in Vietnam is just crazy there are so many accidents especially with mopeds! Anyway our driver got out and went to check the damage and speak to the other bus driver, but the other bus driver started to drive off so our bus driver started throwing rocks at the other bus! It was really funny to watch as everyone on the bus was at the back window trying to see what was going on!
After making it to Mue Ne in one piece we got dropped off at a really nice hotel well out of our budget but a few doors down we found a basic but clean guesthouse which was $12 a night so we stayed there. It was quite a walk to the centre we found when we decided to, and a few bars and restaurants on the other side. It was like a ghost town in Mue Ne though because it's the low season in Vietnam as the weather is very hot and dry. The next day we rented bicycles again and went for a bike ride and to go to the beach. We ended up going to a few of the 4 and 5 star hotels looking for a gym for Ady but none of the hotels would let you pay for the gym unless you were staying there! We wandered through one of the hotels to get to the beach as there is no public beach there are only private hotel beaches which is a pain as our hotel had the sea right up to the wall so we couldn't get to the beach unless we cut through hotels! We decided that the sun loungers looked rather nice on the beach of this particular hotel and as there were no other guests around we thought we would take our chances! We didn't get disturbed all morning but after lunch a security guard asked us for our room key or 5 dollars each for the sun loungers so we pretended we didn't understand then legged it! We ended up with a hotel towel on the beach instead!
We went to a restaurant and had a nice seafood meal as its supposed to be very good there then we went to a few bars but we were the only people in them so we went back early.
The next day we hired out a motorbike so we could go to the famous red sand dunes and explore a bit further afield. When we pulled up at the sand dunes about 30 kids run up to us with sand boards wanting us to pick them to use their board! It was a nightmare! After negotiating a rate with the kids we started walking up the sand dunes. It was sooo hot the sand was burning my feet and it was really tiring on the legs climbing up after each slide, so we didn't stay too long at the red sand dunes. They also have white sand dunes but because of the heat we decided not to go to them and go to the beach instead for the rest of the afternoon.
The next day we had a bus booked for Saigon in the afternoon. The journey to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) took around 6 hours.
