Hi!
We are still in Phuket but have now moved to Patong beach. Very touristy and a little on the seedy side! Can't tell you how many fat, ugly, minging old men we have seen with very young pretty looking thai girls yuk!!
Amy and Emma went for a thai massage after we lugged the backpacks for what seemed like eternity in the midday sun, we never learn! They massage everywhere, and they mean everywhere which is why I (sarah) decided against getting one not too fussed on some little thai woman getting a bit carried away!! on the other hand did'nt mind going for a pedicure, Amy managed to get a ladyboy doing hers could only happen to her though he/she did a very good job!
Got up on fri to go on a boat trip to Phi Phi island, opened the curtains to find it was throwing it down then after getting up at 6 in the morning to be picked up at 7, they did'nt pick us up until 8!! not very good at timekeeping in Thailand we were'nt impressed one little bit! Finally made it onto boat to sail across to Phi Phi, luckily weather cleared up and it became a gorgeous sunny day. While on the boat we went past the island were the film 'The beach' was made, stunning! Emma and Sarah decided to have a go at snorkelling, did'nt last very long to be honest once we seen how many fish there were swimming around us we decided to get out quick! But at least we had a go and got some snorkell pictures!
Phi Phi island is amazing, definatly a paradise island we wish we had stayed for a few days over there. We went to the beach for a sunbathe only to be extremly entertained by some chinese tourists taking funny posing pictures of each other, you know what they are like with their cameras. The whole row of sunbeds we were sat at could'nt stop giggling, it was like a comedy sketch!!
Friday night we went to watch thai boxing. We had ring side seats. Thought it would be all adults fighting, did'nt realise we would be seeing kids of about 8 fighting each other, our nerves were shot! Did see some adult fights as well though, we were lucky enought to see an english lad fighting, he gave his opponent a bloody nose and then knocked him out his eyes rolled back in his head as he hit the floor not a pretty sight! Stadium was full of a crowd of thai men placing bets on the fights and jumping up and down like lunatics funny to watch!
Saturday night we decided to venture out to have a drink and people watch. Oh did we see some sights! First place we went a ladyboy came and sat next to us and started chatting to us, cheeky so and so then asked us to get him/her/it a drink, no chance! Then when we got up to go somewhere else him/her/it asked for a tip because they were on one of our photos, told no chance, got the camera and erased the photo. That is Thailand all over, everyone is out for what they can get out of you. They seem to think that we are all rich and have money to burn! Same night ended up in a strip club by accident, we were glad we did though as it provided some of the funniest moments of the night all the girls had numbers on them, we'll leave it up to you to decide why they each had a seperate number!!!
Only other thing we've done is tried sunbathing everytime we get a gap between the rain and had a roast dinner, yes a roast and we had it on sunday worth every penny although it now means we have to eat on the cheap for the rest of the week!
Moving to Malaysia on Thurs so our next blog we be from there!
Loads of love, Sarah, Amy and Emma xxx.
