Its been a while since we updated the blog, to be honest we've been too busy sunbathing and moving countries again!!

During our stay in Ubud we went to watch a fire dance show. Its a traditional form of idonesian dancing that the villagers do to fight off evil spirits or something! We sat in the front row. If anyone ever goes to watch one of these shows do not sit in the front row, we got covered in ash off the 'bonfire' that some mad man was walking through with a toy horse!!! It was the night before bonfire night though so at least we felt we had'nt missed out at home!

After Ubud, which actually turned out not as bad as we had first imagined, we went back to Kuta beach. Not much to report really just sunbathed, ate, sunbathed some more and visited a the temple on the water. Also went to the Hard rock hotel for the day to see how the other half live, we can assure you we did't stay there before you think we are lying about backpacking it!!

We set off for Singapore tuesday night on a very late flight. We arrived at the hostel at about half 1 in the morning, shattered we were put in our dorm in the pitch black, a 12 person mixed dorm! We have had no sleep since we got here! The most irritating resident of our room had been put underneath Amy's bed and end to end to Sarah's bed. We gave him a new name 'Mr Bean'!! He has OCD and folds stuff at 8 in the morning, rattles plastic bags numerous times, turns the light on and off, he trumps all night, when he makes cup of tea he stirs the spoon round and round in the cup and to top it all he snores....loudly!!!! We woke up this morning to find he was finally moving out, HALELUAH!!!

To say we've only been here since tuesday we've got through alot already, have'nt stopped, our little legs are a bit out of practice now at walking all day as we have been lazing for past few weeks! Singapore is a shoppers paradise so thats what we did on weds. Went up to Orchad road which is the most famous shopping bit here. You would'nt believe how many shopping centres there are, its mad! That night we wandered up the road to little india, they have all lights lining the streets at the moment to celebrate Deepavali festival.

Thurs we went to see the Merlion that spits out water, its always featured when you see pictures of Singapore. After that we took a trip up to see Raffles hotel which is decorated in all its christmas decies, made us feel a bit christmasy even though we were in shorts and vest tops! We also mjanaged to sqeeze in Bugis village that night, told you we had done alot!!

Friday we went up to Chinatown. Bit like any other chinatown lots of chinese, eating chinese food and shopping at chinese markets. Went to the Night safari friday night, really well done its like disney. You get on a tram that takes you around the safari to see all the animals and theres a little tour guide that gives funny commentry and constantly tells the chinese to stop using flash photography!! They just don't listen she must have told them 10 times!!!

Saturday we hoped to go on the hot air balloon thing that hovers over the city but unfortunatly it started raining so it was suspended will try again another day.Thought we'd go to the pics last night so went to watch 'Gameplan'. The cinema was absolutly packed out which shocked us because there is another cinema 2 minutes up the road which was also chocker block! Much cheaper to watch a film than with us though, oh and they serve mashed potatos as a snack (as well as popcorn and stuff)!! Weird! Got given allocated seats, guess who got the front row, the girl on the desk obviously did'nt take to us! We did however move as soon as it went dark to better seats!

Just going to chill out today and potter about a bit as we have had no sleep again! Going to go across to Sentosa island tomorrow and make another trip to the post office before we leave for Australia on Tues. Our next blog will be from there, back to some kind of normality!!
