Well we have moved twice since our last blog. Left for Bangkok on saturday, Vietnam was so wet it was starting to feel like we were at Butlins!
Arrived at our hostel after yet another death defying taxi journey (nearly 90mph all the way!) to find our room had bed bugs, great, so we made them move us to the original room that he had shown Sarah, bed bug free and much cleaner! Visited the night bazaar which is a huge market, picked up some more bargains so backpack is too full yet again opps! getting a bit sick of markets now though once you've seen one you've seen them all, never thought we'd say that ha ha!
Sunday we went to see some more big buddhas and temples. We got took to most of the sights on a tuk tuk for less than a pound, but also got took to some places that we had'nt agreed on so he could get free petrol! Note to anyone going to Thailand, Sunday is free petrol day for drivers who take tourists to places not on their list!!
Can't say we were too fussed on Bangkok very seedy place, ladyboys everywhere and on the whole a bit of an eye opener!!
Tuesday we flew into Koh Samui, wow it is paradise! Even the airport is a little bamboo style hut that screams luxury! We had to get a boat across to Koh Phangan another smaller island were we are staying. The dock resembled something out of an 18-30 holiday with everyone crossing over for the full moon party so we were'nt impressed. They then piled all the bags in one big massive heap on the front of the boat was frightened one was going to fly off. After arriving at other side they then threw all the bags in a pile on the floor and you had to try and find yours, it was a bit like a lucky dip! Taxi (actually cattle truck!) then dumped us again in the middle of nowhere with arm motioning direction of our beach hut. Then some woman tried to poach us by lying and saying her beach huts were the ones we were booked into, fuming we dumped bags and set off to find our actual beach huts (which were just behind but did'nt have a proper sign, typical Thailand!) Really nice new huts, few minutes from the beach perfect!
FULL MOON PARTY!!!! This was at the other side of the island, we booked a taxi to get there and back, we should of known it was'nt a real taxi, it was a pick up truck, about 7 of us sat on the floor in the back on bits of raffia ouch!
Party was madness, beach full of thousands of people off their heads, its really for proper hard core ravers, but we still had the glow sticks, bracelets and glow paint up our arms! Lots of fire throwing and big skipping rope with fire that everyone kept jumping through, they must have had a death wish, we were convinced someone was going to be set on fire! Fun night, we can't really explain how mad it is you'd have to see for yourself!!
Now we are just chilling on the beach really as not much else to do around here, Amy has been really ill so been in bed all yesterday but on the mend now today.
Bye for now xxx.
