hi everyone sorry not updated for a while been to busy relaxing ha ha! Hope you are all ok?
my mum and dad (shell's parents) arrived on easter sunday so been out a bit with them. we have moved into the other apartment which is really nice. we went to a restaurant the first night mum and dad arrived which was their treat and fantastic. the waiters are all gay and took quite a shine to si! which was hilarious because they kept flirting with him and the more we laughed the more they did it. they draw out their words here so instead of saying menu they say, menuuuuuuu, so when si ordered a tiger beer they wanted to know if he wanted a small tiggggeer or big tigggger? he said big tiger and then never heard the end of it from them, " here is your big tiggggerr" he ordered chocolate cake for dessert from one of the waiters who particularly liked si and they put it infront of him saying, "chocolate cakkkkkkkke for you." we had our photo taken with them which is also funny as they are so vain, will promise to upload photos soon. we havent taken many though as only just getting our tans with the on off storms although saying that it was approx 40 yesterday and we burnt.
we will be taking loads of photos the next 2 days though as GAZ AND ALI ARRIVED THIS MORNING YIPEE! to see us before flying to oz on the 17th. they caught the overnight train from chang mai (12 hours!) they have been to south africa for 2 months then been in thailand for a month now. it has been raining most of today so they are all having a kip before we go and do some shopping and party hard tonight down walking street in pattaya!
the songkran festival starts tomorrow until the 19th so gaz and ali will be here for a day of it. songkran is thai new year and they celebrate in style by throwing buckets of ice water over everyone and rubbing floor into peoples cheeks. they have big drums of water everywhere so you can fill up your buckets and water guns or use the hoses to soak people! dad is buying big huge water pistols ready for the occasion. the best day is apparetnly the last day (19th) as everyone goes out into the street early around lunch time and starts drinking and has one big water fight all day and night, so you just go out in your bikinis and have to have your money in a plastic wallet. i am buying a waterproof camera as want to capture it all, should be good fun!
not got much else to report at the moment we will be moving on to bangkok roughly the 23rd or 24th. hope you are all ok. mal and peter hope you had a great day at the races today and i hope the horse "simon" comes in for you all on saturday!
say hello to everyone for us, big hugs and kisses shell and simon xxxxx
