Last day in Rotorua and Julie's hopes of a dolphin watching cruise in nearby Tauranga were dashed by the cyclone. Still, we made the best of it and got another combo ticket.
First we had a deluxe lunch cruise on the Lakeland Queen - an old-fashioned paddle steamer type boat - on the calm waters of Lake Rotorua. All was well until, we were in turn feasted upon by biting, flying ants near the end of the trip.
The second half of the ticket took us 10km out of the centre to Agrodome. Billed as a taste of real New Zealand with a sheep show, shearing, lamb feeding and a sheepdog trial - it didn't disappoint. We were particularly find of the horned Merino sheep pictured with Julie. Julie even got in on the act, milking a cow on stage.
We enjoyed the last of the sunshine back in town at the Polynesian Spa - voted in the Worlds Top 10 Spas several times. The water, although a bit smelly due to the sulphur, was wonderfully relaxing with 7 pool overlooking the lake ranging intemperature between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius.
Our last night in Rotorua mirrored our first, as we used up the last of our BBQ food and caught some z's before our 7am flight tomorrow.
