Have no fear gentle readers. Julie is NOT about to be eaten by a giant shark that looks like it's already eaten a bus. We went to Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium and Antarctic Adventure and that was the excellently pimped shuttle bus.
The attraction was also very good - being able to see the penguins up close from a "snow cat" set it apart from other aquariums we've been to lately.
However, we left the building in an absolute downpour, which hadn't improved much by the time we got back to the CBD, so Julie went for a nap and Dean went hunting for a suitcase (unsuccessfully).
Remarkably in a city of 1.2million, we saw 2 groups of people from the wedding. Sadly we were unable to stop when we saw the first group as we were desperately chasing down the shark bus - sorry John, Dave, Liz and Emily!
The weather had improved by mid afternoon so we got another bus and climbed to Auckland's highest point at the top of Mt Eden's crater. Lovely views, but a tiring climb
On the way back we stopped off to have a look at the famously edgy K-Road. However, it was too edgy for a couple of squares like us, so we walked back to SkyCITY for dinner and another Natalie Portman film.
I doubt there'll be any Oscars for No Strings Attached, but it was pretty enjoyable at the end of a tiring day.
