We set off in the morning for an hour until we reached the Northern most town in Thailand but there wasn't really much to see except for the border point and some more stalls selling souvenirs. We then travelled for half an hour to the golden triangle. It is where Thailand meets Laos and Myanmar (Burma). Here we saw a gold sitting buddha and went into the opium museum, which was quite interesting. We then went on a boat trip to a casino on Laos (which is apparantly a big deal because there are no casinos in Thailand at all because its illegal to gamble) and then we crossed the border onto mainland Laos, where we could do a bit of shopping and the views of Thailand were great. I bought some whisky and a monkey stole it off me, and we also saw a baby bear too. Came back to Chiang Rai and had an early night.
